EHI specializes in research and diagnosis of infectious and genetic diseases. It has a BSL-2 enhanced facility to handle highly infectious pathogens as well as other specialized equipment from basic to advanced molecular medicine.

- Whole genome sequencing of viruses and gene sequencing of pathogens or hosts
- Production of recombinant proteins
- Detection of proteins using ELISA, Western blot, Luminex
- Spectrophotometry for enzyme activity measurement
