On 30 June 2026, Marcelino Pandin, Commissioner of EHI, served as a speaker at the Ninth Session of the Committee on Environment and Development, organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP). The event brought together Asia Pacific city leaders and global experts to discuss climate action. As a leading global platform on climate and sustainable development, the conference promoted synergistic policymaking and integrated implementation to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discuss climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
During his session, Commissioner Pandin highlighted the importance of evidence and science-based climate finance to avoid greenwashing projects and build capacity and business cases for local governments preparing feasible and bankable initiatives with the help of available artificial intelligence tools to create a healthier and more sustainable future. EHI believes that meaningful progress toward the SDGs depends on strong partnerships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and science-driven innovation that translates research into practical solutions for communities and the environment.
