On 11 November 2025, EHI proudly congratulates Dr. Anak Agung Dewi Megawati, lecturer and researcher from Universitas Warmadewa, on being named one of four recipients of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science (FWIS) Indonesia 2025 Award, selected from more than 150 applicants across the nation. The awarding ceremony, held at Graha Diktisaintek, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in Jakarta, celebrated exceptional Indonesian women scientists whose work has made meaningful contributions to the country’s scientific progress. The event drew representatives from L’Oréal Indonesia, the French Embassy, and Indonesia’s higher education authorities. Representing EHI at the ceremony, Director Frilasita A. Yudhaputri reaffirmed our commitment to uplifting women in science and fostering an environment where their work can thrive.
Now in its 22nd year in Indonesia, the L’Oréal-UNESCO FWIS program continues to foster scientific excellence by providing research funding and mentorship to women researchers. Since 2004, the program has supported 79 Indonesian women scientists, five of whom have gone on to receive international acclaim. Dr. Megawati will soon begin her awarded research at EHI, in collaboration with Universitas Warmadewa and UC Davis, U.S.A. EHI is honored to host Dr. Megawati’s upcoming research and looks forward to the impactful scientific contributions that will further its mission of empowering health through innovation. EHI believes that empowering women scientists and supporting collaborative, cutting-edge research is essential to strengthening Indonesia’s scientific and public health landscape.
