On Monday, 8 December 2025, EHI welcomed a delegation from Danantara Indonesia (Daya Anagata Nusantara), Indonesia’s newly established sovereign wealth fund, that is mandated to manage and optimize state-owned enterprise (SOE) assets while driving national economic transformation. The visit was led by Mr. Ricardo Irwan Rei, Managing Director for Strategic Technology Initiatives, accompanied by members of Danantara’s technology office team. The delegation was received by EHI’s Board of Commissioners, Prof. Dadan Umar Daihani and Dr. Marcelino Pandin, together with EHI Director Ms. Frilasita Aisyah Yudhaputri and Research Fellow Dr. Benediktus Yohan Arman.
Through their presentation at EHI, Danantara outlined its strategic investment priorities, which span renewables and energy, minerals, digital infrastructure, infrastructure and utilities, real estate, financial services, food and agriculture, and healthcare. In the healthcare sector, Danantara emphasized its commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and fostering innovation to improve equitable access and quality of life across Indonesia. A key area of interest discussed was the development of biosimilars, with the visit serving as an exploratory step to assess opportunities for future collaborative projects and strategic investments with EHI.
EHI presented its institutional profile, highlighting its research excellence, advanced capabilities, and strong engagement with the global scientific community. Ms. Yudhaputri underscored EHI’s growing international standing, including its recognition in the 2025 Nature Index as one of Indonesia’s most impactful research institutions in the healthcare field. In response, EHI’s Board of Commissioners expressed their openness to potential collaborations between EHI and Indonesian SOEs under Danantara’s coordination, reinforcing a shared vision to advance innovation and strengthen Indonesia’s healthcare ecosystem. EHI believes that such strategic partnerships are essential to accelerating scientific innovation, strengthening the national healthcare ecosystem, and contributing to sustainable health and economic development in Indonesia.
