Wastewater and environmental surveillance (WES) is a powerful tool for surveillance of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance. Presently, WES has been involved in the monitoring of various public health threats such as SARS CoV-2, Poliovirus, Influenza virus, Typhoid, Measles, etc.\u00a0 Data obtained from WES have been used as an early warning system for disease transmission and detection of genomic variants. Furthermore, these data are influential in shaping public health response and policy affecting various stakeholders, industries, governments, and institutions, among many others.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The GLOWACON Regional conference and Research, Engagements and Alliance for Diseases caused by Infections (READI) Programme workshop were held in Singapore from 24 until 28 June 2024. The event was held as a medium to facilitate discussion between different research institutions, industries, and governments on how to improve and expand the use of WES and its data.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

EHI researcher, Dionisius Denis, participated in the conference and workshop focused on developing a Regional Agenda for Wastewater & Environmental Surveillance and Research for Epidemics and Pandemics.
