The 21st International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) 2024, held from September 19-23 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, gathered thousands of researchers, experts, policymakers, and international authorities to discuss the latest advances in tropical medicine and malaria. This prestigious event served as a key platform for exchanging research and experiences in the fight against tropical diseases, offering seminars, oral and poster presentations, exhibitions, social programs, and more.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Three researchers from EHI, Agatha Puspitasari, Aisah Amelia, and Ristya Amalia, participated in this global congress through presenting their own studies. Ristya presented a poster titled “Exploring the Incidence of Plasmodium knowlesi<\/i> Human Infections in Malinau, North Kalimantan and Sabang, Aceh, Indonesia.” Agatha delivered a three-minute presentation on “Cryptic Absence and Genetic Variation of Plasmodium falciparum<\/i> Histidine Rich Protein 2 and 3 in Papuan Field Isolates and Their Impact on Malaria Rapid Diagnostic Tests: A Long-Awaited Update from Indonesia.” Lastly, Aisah presented her presentation that is titled “Serological Exposure Markers to Detect the Hidden Burden of Malaria in the Spleen.”<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
