On 5-7<\/span>th<\/span> February 2024, our scientists at EHI, Illene Nanine and Ristya Amalia, participated in a training series conducted by a collaboration between the Indonesian Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) and Indonesia Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI) from the Faculty of Medicine at University of Indonesia (Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia). This course provides a thorough and fundamental understanding of quantitative data management and analysis using the R statistical software. R is a programming language specifically designed for statistical computing and data graphing. The R program language is commonly implemented in RStudio, an integrated development environment that is widely used in data science for data analysis and is one of the most comprehensive statistical programming languages available. Hence, through this training series, participants would achieve instructions and coaching regarding R programming language, especially in variable group comparison, and statistical proportion, along with linear and regression models.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As a research institute, EHI recognizes the significance of statistics application in scientific research. The mathematical methodology is especially useful since it allows systematic accounts for variability and uncertainty of data to substantiate the validity of inferences obtained from the research. Statistical knowledge is a crucial factor behind how scientists infer discoveries in science and make decisions or predictions based on the existing data. EHI hopes through this training series, every participant joining this course can improve as a scientist and be capable of analyzing data to produce statistically justifiable results.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
