On 29 July 2025, EHI researchers Illene Nanine and Devin attended the seminar \u201cGuest Lecture Future Scholar Spotlight: Precision Health Through Clinical and Functional Genomics\u201d, organized by the Metabolic Disorder, Cardiovascular, and Aging Research Center (MVA) IMERI-FKUI and the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) of Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). The event focused on precision medicine through genomic applications, highlighting how patient genetic profiles can guide medical decisions, including drug type and dosage.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The seminar featured three expert presentations. Dr. Irene Gallego-Romero delivered \u201cHuman Functional Genomics\u2013and more\u2013for Everyone\u201d, showcasing the use of multiplexed assay of variant effect (MAVE) to predict the pathogenicity of mutations caused by protein changes. Sukma Oktavianthi presented \u201cCharacterization of Partitioned Polygenic Risk Score for Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesian Populations\u201d, explaining how bioinformatics can detect gene activity linked to diabetes and help determine optimal drug dosages. Finally, Dr. Ardy Wildan discussed \u201cClinical Applications of Soft Clustering in Diabetes Management: From Subtype Discovery to Personalized Interventions\u201d, introducing clustering-based classification methods to improve the accuracy of diabetes classification and medication. Through this seminar, EHI participants were provided with valuable insights into functional genomics, bioinformatics, and the clinical applications of precision medicine. It also served as a platform for building connections and exploring future collaborations in the field of genomic research and personalized healthcare\u2014an area EHI believes will play a key role in advancing patient-centered treatment strategies.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
