| THE STORY BEHIND
Gap In Research
In recent decades, the global community has faced a myriad of emerging infectious viruses and pathogens sourced from animal hosts such as Ebola virus, Avian Influenza (H5N1), SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and a resurgence of previously resolved pathogens.
Indonesia and the global community face the present threat of infectious viral pathogens transmitted through vectors such as mosquitoes and mites. The mosquito-borne viruses such as dengue, chikungunya, Zika, Japanese encephalitis and other arboviruses are continuously circulating and pose imminent threats to the community.
The threat of pathogens is not limited to viruses but also bacterial such as Rickettsia, a tick-borne bacteria, and parasites such as malaria, a mosquito-borne disease, which imposes endemic potentials.
In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is considered as a potential hotspot for emerging and reemerging pathogens that threaten countries regionally and globally if not supported by an effective and efficient detection and surveillance system. Currently, there is still limited number of research institutions that have the capacity to conduct these activities in Indonesia and therefore we strive to fill this gap.
Additionally, we also focus in increasing better quality of life through One Health Concept.
Solution
EHI was officially established in August 2022 to answer these challenges. Our team has the competence and experience in carrying out pathogen detection and surveillance activities at a leading molecular biology research institution in Indonesia. Based on our track record for more than 20 years, we are confident that our organization can provide the best service for our users. Furthermore, our internationally reputed experts are also the main reason we believe that our organization’s quality is the best in the field of health research and molecular medicine in Indonesia.
